Managing Work at Height

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to create, implement and maintain a safe system of work for work at height.

Intended for

Self-Employed, Managers, Supervisors, Clients, Architects, Engineers, Safety Professionals and Specifiers.

Introduction

The management of work at height activities has long been overlooked by employers and other responsible parties and this course provides a comprehensive series of lecture sessions and extensive practical experience which combines detailed content of several specialised modules.

Provides a thorough working knowledge of the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations.

This course includes the Awareness of work at height syllabus (1/2 day) which is recommended by ACWAHT (Advisory Committee for Work at Height Training) plus varied practical experience in the use of fall protection equipment, practical demonstrations of how to implement the fall protection hierarchy, detailed information on how to control, inspect and manage work equipment and experience of how to deal with emergencies.

  • Use of temporary and mobile platforms
  • Collective fall protection

Practical Skills

  • Use of personal fall protection equipment
  • Use of guardrails, platforms, etc
  • Rescue procedures and practice

Assessment Method

  • Written test
  • Practical test
  • Continuous observation by Instructor

Entry Requirements

  • Self certified statement of reasonable fitness will be required prior to attendance
  • Candidates should not have an aversion to heights

Course Duration

2 Days

Certification

On successful completion of this course, candidates will receive a Training Certificate and Photo ID Card.

Training Locations

Training can be provided at the clients' premises or at our state of the art training centre located at Crossreagh, Mullagh, Co. Cavan, Ireland.
